David Moxam, Chairman & CEO

David Moxam, Chairman, is a recognized leader in the global fight against industrial counterfeiting, piracy and excise tax fraud. He leads a team of PhDs, engineers and industry experts who work with Fortune 500 companies and national governments around the world. Authentix’ advanced nanotechnology solutions are currently used by 6 of the leading 10 pharmaceutical firms, 4 of the top 6 oil and gas companies, 4 of the G7 Central Banks and 8 international governments. Together they have recovered over $11 billion in lost revenues since 2003.

Authentix received prestigious U.K honors in 2008 winning The Queen’s Award for Enterprise and was also selected as the top M&A Deal Award for Texas. Mr. Moxam was recognized as an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year for Technology in 2006.

Prior to joining Authentix, Moxam performed a technology turnaround at Goldman Sachs’ Starpoint following a 10 yr career building EDS’ New York based Global Financial Markets Group. Mr. Moxam serves on the board of directors of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and Compassites Software Solutions in India. Mr. Moxam holds graduate diplomas in Physics and Business Administration from Laurentian University in Canada.

Lal Pearce, President, Global Business Development

Lal Pearce, President, Global Business Development is responsible for directing worldwide business development activities across all industry sectors that Authentix serves. Pearce joined Authentix in 2000 as its Vice President, Oil and Gas, where he negotiated Authentix’ first sale of a turnkey U.S. fuel authentication program to one of the top oil and gas brands. He also initiated the strategic sale of Authentix’ upstream Oil & Gas business so the company could focus on its downstream Oil & Gas business success. Pearce negotiated the company’s first contract in a brand new downstream market for authentication while at the same time capturing the first business for Authentix in Central Europe. He also oversaw the full implementation of a major national fuel adulteration prevention program in Asia. Before joining Authentix, Pearce was Commercial Director for Alcoa’s Industrial Chemicals Division where he launched a new start-up high purity alumina business and manufacturing facility that became a key part of a $30 million per year business segment for Alcoa. He also held a number of sales, marketing and commercial management positions during his ten years with ConocoPhillips. Pearce has degrees in Chemistry and Business from Texas Tech University.


Duncan Ritchie, Chief Operating Officer

Duncan Ritchie, Chief Operating Officer, oversees global operations, technical development and existing client service for Authentix. Previously he served as the Managing Director, Europe and VP, Global Marketing & Strategy. He joined Authentix in 2001 as a strategy consultant. Prior to joining Authentix he managed a cardiovascular division of Ciba-Geigy Pharmaceuticals and was Global Sales & Marketing Director for Morrison Bowmore Distillers. He has also run his own consulting company for 10 years, working in diverse fields such as airline components, consumer goods, manufacturing and distribution. He has held a number of main Board Interim directorships, and has managed joint venture subsidiaries for clients in India and China. He has a BSc. Hons in Microbiology from Strathclyde University, Glasgow, UK.


Jeff Kupp, Chief Financial Officer

Jeff Kupp joined Authentix as CFO in April 2011, and has more than 20 years of financial experience, including 13 years as CFO of public and private companies operating in high technology, software, manufacturing and services sectors. He has extensive experience in mergers & acquisitions, international operations, public equity offerings, SEC and SOX compliance, restructurings/cost reduction and investor relations. Mr. Kupp has responsibility for accounting, corporate development, finance, financial planning and analysis, human resources, procurement and risk management. He previously served as CFO, Vice President and Corporate Secretary of Microtune, Inc., where he played a significant role in Microtune’s expansion as a global leader in radio frequency integrated circuits and subsystem modules for the cable, automotive and digital TV markets. Prior to Microtune, Mr. Kupp was the CFO of Inet Technologies, Inc, a global supplier of performance management and testing solutions for telecommunications carriers and equipment manufacturers. He also served as CFO for IEX Corporation and CS Wireless Systems and was a Director at DSC Communications Corporation. Mr. Kupp played a key role in the strategic sales of both Inet Technologies and IEX Corporation. Mr. Kupp began his career at Ernst & Young, LLP as an auditor and then as a management consultant. A Certified Public Accountant, he holds an MBA from Cornell University and a BA in Accounting and Computer Science from Asbury College.


Tim Driscoll, Ph.D., VP, Currency

Tim Driscoll, Ph.D., VP of Currency, joined Authentix in 2005 and has been actively involved in the authentication industry for over 16 years. As VP of Currency, Dr. Driscoll is responsible for the development of Authentix’ banknote business with our Central Bank clients. Authentix is actively engaged in the development of new security solutions for Central Banks that range from overt technologies to materials and sensors for high speed processing. Previously, Dr. Driscoll served as the VP of Global Operations for Authentix. Before joining Authentix he was the VP of Materials Engineering for Spectra Systems Corporation, a company that provides anti-counterfeiting security systems based on advanced materials. Dr. Driscoll has developed high level covert and public security features for major world currencies and passports. He has published more than 15 journal articles and has authored several patents. Dr. Driscoll holds a Ph.D. and a M.S. in Physics from Brown University and a B.S. in Physics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.


Kyle Beedy, VP, Oil & Gas

Kyle Beedy, VP, Oil & Gas, joined Authentix in 2007 and has over 15 years experience in the Oil & Gas industry. He is responsible for the business development activities for large branded and governmental customers around the globe including the U.S., Latin America, and Southeast Asia. Prior to joining Authentix, Kyle spent over 11 years with El Paso Energy, the largest natural gas pipeline company in the U.S., leading all commercial activities for the Western Region of its Field Services subsidiary. He holds a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering and an MBA from Texas Tech University.


Majid Fazeli, VP, Authentication Serialization

Majid Fazeli, VP, Authentication Serialization, joined Authentix in 2002 as the Director of Product Technology and was instrumental in managing the development and deployment of many of the platform solutions in commercial use by Authentix clients today. He has been the architect of the Authentix pedigree services for mass serialization and item level tracking of Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) and excise tax recovery programs for tobacco and spirits products. He has over 20 years of experience developing and commercializing technology-based solutions in Process Control, Semiconductor Manufacturing, and Brand Protection markets. Prior to joining Authentix, he was Global Director of Research & Development at Mykrolis, the semiconductor division of Millipore Corporation. He holds several patents and an advanced degree in Nuclear Engineering from Iowa State University.


Jim Rittenburg, Ph. D., VP, Healthcare and Life Sciences

Jim Rittenburg, Ph.D., VP Healthcare and Life Sciences, joined Authentix in 1994 and has played a major role in the application of the company’s marker systems in the pharmaceutical and spirits industries. He has over 20 years experience developing immunodiagnostic systems for developing trace chemicals in pharmaceuticals, foods, beverages, petrochemicals, and agricultural products. He has edited two books, authored numerous journal articles and invented a number of patents in this field. Prior to joining Authentix, Dr. Rittenburg was Director of Product Development for Quantix Systems. He received his Ph.D. in microbiology from the University of Maine in 1981.


Erwin Dorland, Ph.D., VP, Program Operations

Erwin Dorland, Ph.D., VP, Program Operations, is responsible for the management of Authentix’ existing client base across the company. He oversees dedicated Service Excellence Teams in the United States, United Kingdom, Africa and India. Dr. Dorland has worked for Authentix since 1993. He has over 15 years’ experience installing and implementing multimillion dollar authentication systems throughout Europe, Asia, Africa and America. Dr. Dorland holds an MBA from the Bradford School of Management, has a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the University of London, a degree in Organic Chemistry from the University of Amsterdam and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry.


Jeff Conroy, Ph.D., VP, Technology Development

Jeff Conroy, Ph.D., VP, Technology Development, has 14 years of experience in technology and business development in the areas of high performance materials, focused on product development with emerging technologies. He joined Authentix in 2006 as Director of Ink Technology, managing Authentix activities in the development of taggant and ink solutions for product marking. Today he organizes and oversees the technology development activities in all areas of Authentix business including materials and device development. Prior to joining Authentix, Dr. Conroy, served as a Chemistry Group Lead at Spectra Systems Corporation where he oversaw the development of a proprietary marking technology for the play side of optical discs and new markers for covert currency authentication on high speed banknote printers. Prior to Spectra Systems, Dr. Conroy served as Senior Scientist and Vice President of Eikos, Inc., where he was a program manager on a variety of DoD and NASA programs related to high performance composite and optical materials. Dr. Conroy has a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Brown University and a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell.
