Authentix has a long history of providing effective overt, covert, and forensic authentication solutions to many of the world’s leading pharmaceutical manufacturers. To date, Authentix has assisted in safeguarding over $50 billion worth of the U.S. drug supply. Within the range of solutions that we provide, we authenticate dosage forms as well as their packaging and we can trace products through the supply chain at the item level.

As a preliminary step in pharmaceutical authentication, we provide a host of solutions to authenticate and track packaging. From overt features such as color shift inks, which enable an initial visual inspection for authenticity, to covert and deep forensic security features, which are only detectable via our proprietary readers. Each feature is designed to authenticate the packaging unequivocally be it a carton, a bottle, a blister foil or vial. In addition, each unit can be individually coded via item-level serialization, thereby enabling it to be tracked through the supply chain.

In combination with packaging authentication, Authentix validates active ingredients, excipients and formulations, whether they are in solid, semi-solid or liquid form. Our range of approved markers meet regulatory requirements and being inert, they have no impact on therapeutic performance. With typical marking levels at parts per billion concentrations, they are approximately 1000 times below the identification and reporting thresholds required for impurities in new active substances. Despite such low concentrations, the presence of markers can be detected readily in the field with the appropriate test kits, thereby avoiding unnecessary delays incurred in laboratory analysis.
